Sebastian obtained his degree in Chemistry from Imperial College, London. His PhD was carried out jointly between the Manchester Material Science Centre and Imperial College, where he worked with air-sensitive and pyrophoric chemicals and specialised in the file do Nanotechnology. Sebastian joined Burgoynes in July 2005.
