Steve Mangini

Steve Mangini joined Burgoyne Incorporated in 2003 as a fire investigator. He has investigated the origin and cause of fires and explosions of land and marine claims and testified in both criminal and civil court as required.

Steve began his career in 1977 with the West Springfield, MA Police Department conducting criminal investigations where he developed an interest in fire investigation. In 1987, he transferred to the West Springfield Fire Department receiving training in fire suppression and investigation.  Steve was promoted to Lieutenant in 1992, serving as officer-in-charge of the Fire Investigation Unit and liaison to the police department, state fire marshal and District Attorney’s office.  He has trained at the National Fire Academy and with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

In 1996, Steve accepted a position in the Special Investigations Unit of USF&G Insurance, conducting origin and cause investigations as part of the National Response Team. He instructed at the SIU Academy in Phoenix, AZ and continued SIU and fire investigations following the merger of USF&G with St. Paul Fire and Marine. Steve was employed as a fire investigator with Investigative Resources Global for 2 years prior to accepting the position of Regional SIU Director for the Mid-South region of Horace Mann Insurance. 

Steve obtained his Certified Fire Investigator designation from the International Association of Arson Investigators. In addition, his is a Fraud Claims Law Associate and a licensed private investigator in several southeastern states.
