Graham Barr obtained an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. He spent two years working for the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) where he managed a variety of testing and research based projects for the automotive, motor sport, rail and aircraft industries. He joined Dr J H Burgoyne and Partners’ Manchester office in 2004 and moved to the Glasgow office in 2006.
Since 2004 he has investigated over 180 incidents throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, involving fires, explosions and other accidents such as personal injury and paint spillages. During this time he has prepared reports for courtroom purposes and provided expert testimony in court.
Graham has investigated fires in buildings ranging from domestic to large industrial and also in a variety of plant and vehicles, including agricultural equipment and railway vehicles. He has dealt with a number of deliberate fires in addition to fires arising from defective systems of work and defective design, installation and maintenance of electrical appliances and equipment.
