Bob joined Dr J H Burgoyne & Partners as an Associate in 1984 and became a Partner in 1990. He opened the Basingstoke Office in 1992 and became a Principal Member when the Partnership became a Limited Liability Partnership in 2001.
Since 1984 Bob has undertaken investigation of fires, explosions and chemical incidents. He has carried out over 900 investigations in the UK and abroad. These investigations, which were both marine and land-based, have led him to act as an expert witness on many occasions in connection with litigation in the UK and overseas. Amongst his more high profile UK-based cases were the fires at Uppark House (1989); Windsor Castle (1992); J.Sainsbury, Chichester (1993); Albright & Wilson, Avonmouth (1996); and Tangley House (2000). The marine cases have covered a wide range of ships and incidents involving engine room, accommodation and cargo fires and included the PEGASUS (1991), the SALLY STAR (1994) and the EURASIAN DREAM (1998). He has experience in health and safety aspects of chemical hazards, chemical contamination and carbon monoxide poisoning incidents.
