Keith Benjamin is qualified in chemistry and analytical chemistry and joined the Southern Office of Dr J H Burgoyne & Partners in 1997, becoming a Partner in 2003. He had previously spent 16 years with the government Forensic Science Service, mainly in criminal casework for the Police and Crown Prosecution Service. He has given evidence in criminal and civil courts on many occasions.
At Burgoynes, his main areas of work are the investigation of fires, explosions and other combustion related incidents such as carbon monoxide poisoning. He has investigated land and shipping incidents in continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
He has particular interests in fires involving oil firing equipment, equipment heating combustible liquids, extraction duct systems and vehicles. Also in the operation and performance of portable and fixed fire fighting equipment.
