John Johnston joined Dr J H Burgoyne and Partners in 2005 after retiring from the post of senior collision investigator with Hertfordshire Police. John has been involved in the forensic investigation of road traffic collisions since 1980. From 1989, John was a full-time member of the Collision Investigation Unit of Hertfordshire Police, where he was continuously engaged in the investigation of road traffic collisions.
John has undertaken many hundreds of investigations and has been required to attend court to give expert testimony. He is based in the firm’s Stevenage office. His principal areas of work include all aspects of road traffic collision investigation and reconstruction, including the inspection of vehicles and collision scenes; involving all types of vehicles, and pedestrians. Many investigations have required a detailed reconstruction of the events leading to a collision, from the consideration of the laws of physics applied to the physical evidence and vehicle damage.
John Johnston is a full member of the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators. He was awarded his degree, in Computing and Mathematical Sciences, from the Open University in 2005.
