Edwin obtained his BEng degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Glasgow University following six years’ military service in the Singapore Air Force as a Ground Equipment Technical Specialist.

Edwin spent four years working as a Project Engineer with a company manufacturing cranes and hoists suitable for use in hazardous and explosive environments.  He previously worked at an Engineering and Construction company as an Engineer, being responsible for project management, including installing, testing and commissioning of electronic control equipment.

Edwin joined Burgoynes in Singapore in 2002.  Since that time he has specialised in the investigation of electrical failures and fires.  He has investigated electrical failures of equipment  such as switchgear, uninterruptible power supply units, transmission cables, distribution transformers, power transformers, generator step-up transformers, fuel-driven generators, hydro-powered generators and wind turbine generators.  The fires he has investigated range from small domestic incidents and vehicle fires to those in large industrial premises and power stations.
