Mark served two years of an electrical maintenance apprenticeship within the water industry and a further two years, completing his apprenticeship in a manufacturing industry.  Whilst as a qualified electrician, he subsequently worked as a test technician for two years within the manufacturing sector which he then left to study for a degree.

Mark graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Warwick.  He then joined Kvaerner John Brown and undertook two years electrical design work on several large petrochemical design projects.  This also included an overseas placement as an engineering support role on a construction site. 

He then joined Brown & Root as a Senior Electrical Engineer and gained a further two years design experience within the oil and gas industry.  This included an overseas placement in the Middle East on a construction project and many visits to offshore oil and gas producing platforms to provide technical support.

Mark joined Burgoynes in 2000 and became a Partner in 2008.  Since joining Burgoynes Mark has been continuously engaged in the investigation of fires, explosions and incidents of electrical failures.  He has undertaken over 700 investigations and has been required to attend Criminal, Civil and Coroner’s Courts to provide expert testimony.  During his time with Burgoynes he has investigated many cases in the UK and investigated incidents in several European countries.
