Academic and Professional Qualifications:

BSc (Hons) Physics - University of Bath
PhD Chemical Vapour Deposition - University of Manchester

Experience:

Amanda has an academic background in physics and nanotechnology, and has developed expertise in production processes and materials science during her commercial career. Amanda’s PhD research involved building and optimising reactors for thin film deposition at low pressures and elevated temperatures. After gaining her doctorate, Amanda managed the installation of a laboratory facility for scaling up this technology. Amanda then took a commercial role in the automotive sector as a materials scientist. Her role included conducting failure analysis investigations, assessing conformance to international standards, and collaborating with colleagues and suppliers to resolve technical issues with parts and processes.

Amanda joined Burgoynes in 2019, specialising in the investigation of fire and explosions.
