Experience:

Geoff joined Burgoynes in September 2022 after working for over 20 years in the Failure Investigation team at Intertek (formerly CAPCIS). He has carried out over 1000 investigations relating to corrosion, metallurgy, polymers, refractory ceramics, coatings and general engineering issues. Geoff has worked in a wide range of industrial sectors such as; oil & gas, aerospace, defence, pharmaceutical, construction, water utilities, food & drink, petro-chemical, railway, shipping, power generation and electrical distribution.

Investigations have included plant and machinery failures, gas turbines (aero engines and power generation), combustion engine components, wind turbines, medical devices, welded structures, remnant life/creep assessment of high temperature boiler tubes, bearings, bolts, chains, wire ropes and fire damage assessments of pressure vessels.

Geoff has travelled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East and to destinations such as India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Indonesia and Australia. He has also worked offshore in the North Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
