Experience:

Before joining Burgoynes, Rob worked in the mining and non-destructive testing industries in Australia and then as a Materials Engineer in materials testing laboratories in East Anglia and the East Midlands providing materials assessments and failure analyses for the oil, gas, marine, nuclear and aerospace industries. He joined Burgoynes’ London office in 2001 as an Associate, becoming a Partner in 2010 and then Resident Director at Burgoynes’ Hong Kong office in 2011. Rob returned to our London office in 2019.

Rob has carried out over 500 materials and mechanical investigations in the UK and internationally. These have included automotive, railway, mining and marine incidents, as well as collapsed buildings and cranes, industrial plant failures and general engineering component investigations. He has also investigated incidents involving marine bulk cargoes and has specialist expertise in non-destructive testing techniques.

Rob has experience providing expert evidence in court, at arbitrations and at mediations, both in the UK and in Europe.
