On 21 May 2025 Ian Wallis-Guy, a Partner from our Basingstoke office, acted as an expert witness in a Mock Trial training day at Admiral’s offices in Cardiff. 

The event, which was organised by Rebecca Whear from DAC Beachcroft’s property recoveries team, concerned a fictional court case involving a fire at a tumble dryer.  Katie Walmsley, George Aubrey and Ricky Parmar, barristers from 8 DAC Beachcroft Buildings (8DB), played the judge and counsel for the claimant and defendant, and Emma Wilson from DACB played the lay-witness. 

The mock trial demonstrated how a case can change substantially when new information arises during witness testimony and provided delegates with an insight into the court proceedings.
